This very special group of stitchers uses lots of bright, happy, child-oriented designs like Disney, Sesame Street, bears, and tons of others. The panels are then turned into soft, squishy cushions that are given to children suffering from various life-threatening illnesses and burns. The children light up when they get a pillow and the little ones try to take the character off the pillow or just hug it to themselves.
Cuddle Cushions are mainly hand delivered to Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia, Alabama. When a child is admitted to Russellville Hospital in Russellville, Alabama, cushions are delivered there as well. We will also deliver cushions in this area on a request basis to children in hospice being taken care of at home or to Birmingham Children's Hospital directly to the family of the child. We will ship a cushion to any child in the US on request. Here we must ask for shipping coast which is $6.00 pillow is insured.
These panels can be any child-oriented design, and on any color of fabric except black. Sizes can be anything from at least 6"x6" to 10"x10". When they are completed, they are sent to the finisher to turns them into pillows and stuffs them with a pillowform. The biggest expense for this division is the cost of the pillowforms - around $3.00 each - and help is always needed not only in stitching the panels but purchasing the pillowforms.
